Overall this challenge has been very insightful, I have created new habits that I can keep up for myself as well as adopted other habits that will cut down on my personal emissions. While some decisions are conscious at first, once you pick up a routine, it becomes easier and easier and makes you wonder what your lifestyle was before, how easy it is to create new habits.

In this week of ecochallenges I was able to do more research on why having more meatless meals is healthier for our environment and for our bodies. The kinds of food being produced for us to consume is detrimental to our planets health and our own, the international commissions of scientist have found this destruction will lead to shorter lives and the long-term survival rate of the human existence in general. Also understanding how places where we buy food are offering us portions that are way larger than what is suppose to be proportioned for one person. I find myself ordering food knowing that I will not be able to finish it, leaving it to be another meal, or sharing with my food with my friends or family. When doing my daily walks I have noticed how much or our green life seems to be struggling, especially the farther you get away from main campus, like it is being rejected since it is not in view which is causing for a lot of trees which have been planted recently to die.

Reducing animal products that I eat throughout the day, I have been having at least two meatless meals a day, as well as reducing my portions sizes which reduces my waste and makes my food supply last longer. Reserving time to go on daily walk as well has been a great experience as well because, I have learned more about the community I have been living in for three years, I get to make smarter decisions by driving to walkable places which in turn reduced my carbon emissions.

Some of the things I have noticed on my daily walks are the natural wildlife in the area since I am not from the area. I have enjoyed the weather lately, it has been warm, but I know it is an effect from global warming, because it does not usually get this warm during this time. The infrastructure changes that would make my walks more enjoyable would having more information on the trails.

Other benefits that come from eating/serving smaller portions is the rate of obesity in the United States may go down, more people may have healthier lives.

People in richer countries eat more meat than other people in other places, because with money you can have luxury items like meat since it is more expensive. Eating more meat effects our bodies negatively with heart diseases and any other health issues you can have with too much saturated fat. Positively meat provides protein which has benefits in your health from consuming. Our planet becomes affected when we eat more meat, because more greenhouse emissions are produced, deforestation, water usage, etc. Other people become effected, because meat is seen as a luxury item to eat, so status quos and pollution.
