Reducing the need for paper by having everything on the computer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

    Paige Morrie901's avatar
    Paige Morrie901 10/26/2024 11:22 AM
Energy efficient power strips. That way I can conveniently turn off the power to devices when I am no longer using them and unplug 1 chord vs. several.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry
What was the hardest item to reduce using or cut out that is plastic? Did you find a way to do it?

    Paige Morrie901's avatar
    Paige Morrie901 10/26/2024 11:19 AM
Laundry detergent. Laundry detergent is one of those items that is always in a plastic bottle. What I did find though is that I can use laundry detergent sheets or powder that come in a cardboard box. The place I found them to purchase in bulk was amazon.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry
How could you incorporate other "Rs" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "Rs" make you feel?

    Paige Morrie901 10/26/2024 11:13 AM
Unwanted items or clothes from my home can be donated to be reused and repurposed by others. I can aim for products that are in recyclable packaging. I feel as though finding recyclable packaging is difficult in stores today. Especially at the grocery store. I think it can be done if I don't buy as much processed food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks
Can biochar provide additional benefits besides sequestering carbon?

    Paige Morrie901's avatar
    Paige Morrie901 10/26/2024 11:09 AM
It aids in removing unwanted contaminants from the soil. The soil becomes more mineral rich which is beneficial for plant growth.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings
What are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?

    Paige Morrie901's avatar
    Paige Morrie901 10/26/2024 11:00 AM
Only flush when necessary. An average toilet uses 1.6 gallons of water on 1 flush. Reducing the number of flushes will reduce water usage in your home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

    Paige Morrie901's avatar
    Paige Morrie901 10/10/2024 6:41 AM
The different choices I could make is trying a vegetarian recipe and cutout food waste. I could travel by public transportation. I could support the planet and nurture nature.
