Aside from having to throw that away, I normally consider myself quite resourceful when it comes to food. Being a college student certainly helps, as I normally have to be careful with how I spend my money anyways and likewise, how I resource my food. To prevent having to throw out large amounts of unneeded food, I normally get things I know I can eat -- meals and foods that don't take up a lot of calories but also foods that I know I'll eat.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Food WasteAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Jewel Jewel 11/15/2024 4:01 PMThis task was actually perfect for me because I conveniently had some food go bad earlier in the week. About a month ago, my mother gave me some biscuits to take back up to college with me. After eating one or two of them, I forgot where I placed the bag. Fast forward to Monday of this week, and as I'm cleaning my room I find my now deteriorating bag of four moldy biscuits.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Jewel Jewel 11/15/2024 3:49 PMI went on a trip quite recently with some friends in Wichita to Louisville Kentucky. On top of saving money and enjoying each other's company during our drive, we were also able to avoid taking an airplane unlike many other individuals at the convention we all went to. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Jewel Jewel 11/15/2024 3:46 PMI went on a walk after my shower today at around 2 in the afternoon, and while the weather has definitely gotten more insufferable, the breeze was nice today. I put my hair up in a hair tie and was able to take things easy and get my mind off of my schoolwork for a little while. Next time I think I'm going to go around Lakeside Park a couple times during my normal route.
