  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks
How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 5/19/2024 7:50 PM
It was hard to change my diet to forest-friendly items but I did alright for a couple of meals. I struggled because I craved some items that I was missing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
What did you learn when contacting the fossil fuel companies that supply energy to your community?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 5/19/2024 7:47 PM
I learned that they did not respond well and turned me away. They were defensive and didn't answer me. I learned that fossil fuels are very bad for the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry
What actions will you take to green your job?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 5/19/2024 7:43 PM
To green my job, I will not waste resources at school and eat a healthy, recyclable lunch. I will use reusable containers and not waste water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 5/19/2024 7:40 PM
I noticed that driving takes up most of my carbon footprint but I am pretty efficient at my house.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 5/19/2024 7:36 PM
I carpool to soccer practice 3 days a week. I do this with my friends that also play soccer
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Recycle
    Reuse
    Replenish-plant stuff

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

    River Harlan's avatar
    River Harlan 4/29/2024 12:16 PM
I found out that Japan uses electric trains and that would be a good alternative in the US. I learned that riding the bus or carpooling would lower emissions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

    River Harlan 4/29/2024 12:07 PM
My energy usage is way above average. I only use the grid when we have a long rainy or cloudy period and we save energy for those times as well.
