Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally).

Smaller Portions
Reduced Food Waste
I will use smaller plates and/or serve smaller portions when dishing out food.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Connect With A NonprofitWhat are the most pressing issues for women, girls, and trans/nonbinary people in your community?
Joe Balboni 11/12/2024 1:00 PMThe most pressing issue for women when I am home is the domestic violence that goes around in the city close to me. Me and my mother use to go to the shelter and volunteer for whatever services or goods they needed during their hard times. Any way someone can help is much needed when they are in bad situations/tough times. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Joe Balboni 11/12/2024 12:56 PMThe process for reconstructing my trip was very easy for me. Instead of flying to Kansas for school I ended up driving my car the 1300 miles so i would be less of a carbon foot print during this process. Very worth it the land in America for the trip is beautiful. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Joe Balboni 11/12/2024 12:51 PMUsing smaller portions I have observed less waste throughout my house in general. I live in an off campus house, we usually have our trash bin full with left overs from the food we make and do not eat. this also provided us with a sense of dietician for ourselves and not letting myself eat too much and keeping hunger levels sustainable throughout the day.
